Nolan Scholars - Where Are They Now?

Izik Alequin ‘12
Izik graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in film. He is currently in the graduate program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and slated to receive a Master of Fine Arts in Film in 2019. He has worked at both the Goodman and Steppenwolf theaters creating promotional materials and filming productions.




Stephanie Bartoli ‘14
A senior at Northern Illinois University, Stephanie will be graduating in December 2018 with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. She has interned at Continental Automotive Co. and at S&C Electric Company, held leadership positions for the Mu chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon, a professional and social sorority for women in STEM, and is a collegiate member of the Society of Women Engineers. She will continue her internship at S&C this summer as she finishes school. Stephanie is also a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (chapter level), Alpha Pi Mu Industrial and Systems Engineering Honors Society, Northern Illinois University’s Honors College, and NIU’s Scholars Merit Scholarship Program.




Anisa Bravo ‘13
Anisa graduated in May of 2017 Cum Laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BA in Public Health. She is currently a first year student at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. She also plans to get a Master’s in Public Health to address health disparities and public health arenas throughout her career.

Ivana Chkoumbova ‘14
Ivana will be graduating from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana with a degree in Human Nutrition. She currently works in a research lab at the university and is planning to attend graduate school to become a Physician Assistant.

Ryan Donlan ‘14
Graduating from University of Illinois – Champaign Urbana in May 2018 with a degree in Advertising and minors in Business and Informatics. After graduation he will be working full time at Aerotek in downtown Chicago as a recruiter. Ryan is a Kershner Scholar and has received Dean’s list honors. He is a member of the American Advertising Federation as well as the Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity for which he has served as the Recruitment Chairman, Philanthropy Chairman, and Brotherhood Chairman.

Anthony Marra ‘14
Anthony will graduate this spring from Dominican University with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics and concentrations in Finance, Management, and Marketing. Among the top 10% in his class, he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Society. In addition to his schooling, he works on campus at the Rebecca Crown Library as a Student Supervisor. He was accepted into Dominican’s Brennan School of Business and is taking his second graduate course. He plans to continue on this fall as a fulltime MBA student. Anthony is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He just received the 2018 Outstanding Senior Award in Business Administration with a concentration in management for the Brennan School of Business. He has also been on the Dean’s list for all four years.

Mary Jo Toohey ‘14
Mary Jo will be graduating from Auburn University Magna Cum Laude in May 2018 with a B.S. in Food Science and a minor in Business. She was just selected as the recipient of the College of Agriculture’s 2018 President’s Award. During her time at Auburn she served as President of the Food Science Club, she was selected as a College of Agriculture Ambassador, and also appointed as an Academic Director in her role as Ag Peer Mentor. She was accepted to attend graduate school at Wageningen University in the Netherlands to obtain a Master’s degree in Food Technology. She will head there in the fall of 2018 for two years.




Colleen Walsh ‘14
Graduating in May with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois – Champaign Urbana, Colleen also interned with the Underwriters Laboratory with their Fire Suppression team last summer. She is currently searching for an engineer position in the fire protection industry. Colleen is a member of Phi Sigma Rho (an engineering sorority), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and Pi Tau Sigma (a mechanical engineer honor society). She is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) and Phi Eta Sigma (National Honors Society), and most recently has joined the Order of the Engineer.




Jenna Zacharias ‘12
Graduate of Loyola University – BA in Sociology in 2015 and a Master of Arts in Sociology in 2016. She currently works at a social service agency in Manhattan called The New York Foundling as a Child Abuse Prevention Specialist.
