Join us as we celebrate Mary Beth's commitment to
service at the Building for the Future fundraiser.

Mary Beth Pipala Beiersdorf is the Co-founder and Executive Director of SALUTE, INC and a 1979 graduate of Mother Theodore Guerin High School. She receive her BA in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing from Northern Illinois University, after which she was employed by a large commercial photography studio for fourteen years. During that time she married Will Beiersdorf and together they had three children, and eventually co-founded SALUTE, INC. in 2003.

Shortly after 9/11, Will Beiersdorf (a Naval Reservist), was called to active duty and deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he served for thirteen months. While Will was in Cuba, Mary Beth and her three children coped with the fear of the unknown, as well as the financial and emotional strain caused by the deployment. Family, friends and their extended community stepped in to ease the stress and strain. Upon Will's return, he and Mary Beth felt the need to "give back" by helping others who were experiencing similar hardships. After sharing their vision with family and friends, SALUTE, INC. was established. SALUTE, INC. is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial support for our military men and women and veterans through a variety of fundraising activities.

After fifteen years, the organization has served over 2,600 military service members and their families. They have provided more than $3.5 million dollars in emergency financial assistance to these families and have changed countless lives for the better. Mary Beth was also instrumental in the initiation and passing of a State Bill "The Illinois Military Relief Act."

Mary Beth and Will have been married for twenty-five years and have three sons: William, Christopher and Matthew. They live in Arlington Heights and are parishioners of St. James and enjoy volunteering with PADS and Clearbrook. Their boys attended St. Viator High School.

Mary Beth is a Heart of Gold Recipient for Arlington Heights and a six-year member of the Board of Trustees at St. Viator. Her hobbies and the things that she treasures are family time, friends from high school, volunteering and cooking. She is currently running and training for her sixth Chicago Marathon.
