Guerin Prep Kicks off Relay For Life with Special Assembly & Special Fund-Raising Schemes
Principal Tony Tinerella has lent a hand, or rather his hair to help the Nolan Scholars fund their Relay for Life team. Mr. Tinerella has challenged the Guerin Prep community to raise $1,500 by March 1. If the goal is reached, he will let Mr. Jack Eichstaedt, dean of students, shave his hair n front of the student body as a sign of solidarity with so many cancer patients who lose their hair as a result of their cancer treatment.

Michael Scrivens, pictured at right with his Mom and Dad, hands Mr. Tinerella the first donation towards his new hair cut. Mike, who graduated from Guerin Prep in 2008, was diagnosed with leukemia during his senior year. He addressed the Assembly during the Relay Kick-off as a survivor. He was met with a standing ovation.
Other activities that were part of the Kick-off are pictured below.
