Special Services
To qualify for special services at Guerin Prep, the student must have an IEP, ISP, ICEP, 504 Plan or private evaluation from a licensed psychologist that indicates a diagnosed disability.
An up-to-date copy of the IEP, ISP, ICEP, or 504 Plan is required for a student to receive support services at Guerin Prep. Prior to taking the Entrance Exam, Guerin Prep request that parents/guardians submit a copy of the student’s current documentation and a copy of the formal documentation indicating the student’s initial diagnosis.
An administrator at Guerin representing academics, the director of the Welch Center, the director of counseling and division deans review the student’s grammar school records, entrance test scores, current IEP, ISP, ICEP or 504 Plan to determine whether the student could succeed at Guerin Prep.
Guerin provides minimal accommodations for students who have mild disabilities. Guerin Prep does not provide modifications.
Guerin Prep High School works in collaboration with the Leyden Area Special Education Cooperative (LASEC) to provide services for students who qualify for special education services because of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
