When is the Entrance Exam?
The Entrance Exam will be held at Guerin Prep on Saturday, December 2, 2017. A Make-Up Test will be given for those students who missed the test and have not taken the test at a Catholic high school in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Is pre-registration necessary?
Prospective students may pre-register for the entrance exam at Guerin Prep High School beginning November 18, 2017. Pre-registration will remain open up until the date of the exam. While pre-registration is not necessary, it is important for students to take the entrance exam at their first choice school as merit-based scholarships are often tied with testing at a particular school.
What is the application process?
On the day of the Guerin Prep Entrance Exam, students are given a packet of information which includes an application for admission and an authorization form for grammar school records. Students are to fill out the requested information and return it to Guerin Prep by the deadline date, typically in early February.
What criteria are used to determine acceptance to Guerin Prep?
Criteria used for decisions regarding acceptance and placement include results of the Entrance Exam taken at Guerin Prep and 7th and 8th grade grammar school records.
When will I know that I've been accepted at Guerin Prep?
Letters of acceptance will be mailed by the end of December or as set by the Archdiocese of Chicago.
