NBC 5 News Visits Guerin Prep

natalie martinezNatalie Martinez, NBC 5 News Reporter presented a “motivational bio” recently to Guerin Prep AP Spanish students.  During her visit, Natalie explained the importance of being a news reporter and the dynamics of her every day job.   She also stressed the values of being a good writer and a good student.  More importantly, Natalie discussed “bullying” and the effects that it has on high school students.   She presented clips from a story that she did for NBC.  Students wrote reaction papers about her visit and were grateful for the experience to learn from her.

Each year the Illinois Student Assistance Commission identifies graduating high school seniors who possess superior academic potential.  Outstanding students from nearly every high school within the state are recognized for their academic ability through an equation using both their ACT score and class rank.  To be honored as an Illinois State Scholar is an outstanding accomplishment that is recognized by the 200 private and public universities within the state of Illinois and throughout the country.  Guerin Prep is proud to acknowledge our ten Illinois State Scholars.
